Delivering Gender Equality Innovation

Peequal’s Journey to Glastonbury Success

Approximately six weeks before Glastonbury Festival 2022 we received a call from the lead technical assessor at the British Design Fund, seeking our expertise for one of their investees, Peequal. The primary request was to finalise their manufacturing process to meet the soaring demand for their women's urinals at the festival. With Glastonbury drawing approximately 210,000 attendees, women's queues can be up to thirty-four times longer than men's, underscoring the urgent need for efficient solutions.

The key technical challenges were optimising the design for production and ensuring a reliable supply chain. JNDC refined the design to enhance manufacturability and coordinated the supply chain to guarantee timely delivery of components. Our team worked intensively to implement necessary modifications and ensure the design could be efficiently produced within the tight time.

JNDC’s strategic adjustments and proficient supply chain management ensured a successful delivery. The urinals were well-received, significantly reducing queue times and improving convenience. Showcasing their product at Glastonbury provided Peequal with a significant platform to demonstrate its effectiveness to future investors, leading to increased demand and further investments.

We are incredibly proud to have supported this project, which aligns with multiple UN Sustainable Development Goals, particularly advancing gender equality.
