Our Journey Begins: Founding JNDC was driven by wanting to blend engineering expertise with entrepreneurial spirit. I’m Dean, the founder of JNDC. My journey began with an aerospace engineering degree and various roles in the aerospace and defence industry. While conducting PhD research on aircraft safety and crash investigation I realised my true passion lay in a more hands-on, creative career. This realization led me to leave academia and start my consultancy journey.
Innovative Product Development: At JNDC, we soon realised that our aerospace background could tackle complex challenges across multiple industries. Our comprehensive onboarding process ensures we fully understand our client’s needs and goals from the outset. This unique combination of strategic and engineering focus significantly reduces project risks, setting us apart from competitors.
One of our early achievements was transforming one of our own product ideas into a successful side business. This hands-on experience taught us invaluable lessons about market dynamics, product life cycles and the intricacies of turning an idea into reality. Having one of our own product based businesses gave us confidence to develop another product, which has grown into a separate thriving business. These experiences have been integral to our story, teaching us resilience and adaptability.

Rapid Response: Protecting Frontline Workers During COVID-19: When COVID-19 struck, we paused all projects to focus on making a difference. Recognizing the urgent need for PPE, we leveraged our design expertise and trusted UK supply chain to set up a charity, prioritizing impact over profit. Within six weeks, we established a manufacturing system and delivered over 120,000 face shields to NHS frontline workers. Collaborating with the MoD and the Department of Health and Social Care, we demonstrated our agility and commitment to swift compliance. Our efforts protected frontline workers and earned recognition on ITV's breakfast show. This achievement showcases our dedication and problem-solving skills, supported by numerous companies and individuals.
A Leap Forward: Aerospace Fastener Innovation: In the aerospace sector, we identified an opportunity to revolutionize assembly processes with a new fastener design. By combining practical engineering with a deep understanding of aerospace challenges, we developed a fastener that significantly improved efficiency and ease of use. This innovation not only streamlined assembly operations but also met rigorous industry standards, leading to widespread adoption. Over several years, this fastener has become a key component in the aerospace industry, supplied through a separate, thriving business. This success highlights our ability to deliver high-impact, commercially successful solutions that set new benchmarks in the industry.
Quickloader: Revolutionizing Ratchet Straps: Quickloader approached us to differentiate their product in a crowded market. Our solution was a design that enhanced visibility and usability without increasing costs. This collaboration not only showcased our design and manufacturing prowess but also positioned Quickloader as a market leader. We developed further enhancements, including a unique patented safety feature now on the market, demonstrating the power of innovative thinking.
