Innovative Solutions for Aerospace Assembly

After our first product, Lineglow, was successfully sold, we learned valuable lessons from the concept-to-acquisition process. A few years later, we identified a new opportunity in the aerospace sector to streamline assembly processes with an innovative fastener design. The challenge was to create a fastener that could increase efficiency, quality, and production speed while reducing complexity and labour costs.

This internal project began with extensive research and development. Using 3D metal printing, we created prototypes and subjected them to rigorous testing. The core technology of our fastener allowed major aerospace companies to assemble their structures more efficiently. The fastener was designed to be quick, reusable, and installable by robots, enhancing reliability and production speeds. Our team’s dedication to testing and refinement ensured that the product met the highest standards of the aerospace industry.

The result was a revolutionary single-sided fastener that transformed assembly processes in the aerospace industry. Recognizing its potential, JNDC spun out the technology into a separate company called Kwikbolt. Kwikbolt continues to supply and update this innovative product to the aerospace and defence industries. The success of Kwikbolt underscores our commitment to practical innovation and our ability to bring ground-breaking products to market.
